I'm back - after upgrading my computer to Windows 7. As I opted for a complete install (formatting the hard drive first), then had to re-install & re-configure all the software apps (not a quick job). There are several new photos in the queue ready to be posted. Hope you enjoy them!

This photo was taken from atop the Brig o' Doon. The Brig o' Doon is a late medieval bridge which spans the River Doon in Scotland, and is mentioned in Robert Burns's poem Tam o' Shanter. This is the bridge which supposedly inspired the Lerner & Lowe musical play 'Brigadoon'.

We were in Monterey, CA on July 4th this year. We walked down to the Independence Day celebration in the park and discovered this sign of the times. While we didn't see any celebreties, I'm sure they utilized this service!

I spotted this young heron on the lake near Chatham, IL. The photo isn't as sharp as I would have liked, due the the limitation of a 200mm lens, but I couldn't get any closer. Just after I snapped this shot, the heron flew even farther away!
